John Lennon Biography
Legendary British musician, John Lennon, was a member of the iconic band The Beatles in the 1960s and 70s and made a name for himself after the band broke up as a solo artist and activist.
Lennon was born in Liverpool, England in 1940. He formed his first band in the 1950s, which eventually became The Beatles. The Beatles took America by storm in the 1960s and are one of the most commercially successful band of all time.
After the break up of The Beatles, Lennon continued writing and performing music, this time with his wife, Yoko Ono. He dealt with deportation problems due to his political views but eventually settled into life as a husband and father in New York City.
On December 8th, 1980, Lennon was shot and killed outside of his apartment building in New York. The perpetrator was a former fan. Although Lennon’s life was short, he gave the world his timeless music, and he was an advocate of peace among people.

He also had others sing some of his work when he thought that he couldn’t do it well enough himself.
I was 14 when I first saw The Beatles. My life changed after that. John inspired me and had comtinually been a source of inspiration through difficult times. I told my husband that he was the love of my life, but John Lennon was my first love. IMAGINE that.
I could sit here and comment how John Lennon was taken too soon or that he had a profound impact on the world, both of which he did but that wouldn’t pay enough tribute to who he was.
John did what many aspire to do. He created a movement that was built upon a foundation of love, trust, and peace. It would of great service to the world to remember this in times as these.
